This is a neat - and actually fairly scarcely encountered! - complete (ie. two-pieced) set comprising of two Dutch postage-stamps 'blocks' (comprising of resp. 10 ie. 4 stamps) both as issued in mid-1942 in order to raise funds for the: 'Voorzieningsfonds' (or: special fund) as specifically intended to raise funds for the Dutch Legion (ie. 'Vrijwilligers Legioen' ie. the Dutch Waffen-SS volunteers) both examples coming in a very nice- (ie. 'virtually mint- ie. unissued'!) condition. The pieces have respectively four times a value of: '12½ plus 87½ Cent' and/or ten times a value of: '7½ plus 7½ Cent' . The stamps depict a detailed (ink-drawn) portrait of a Dutch Waffen-SS soldier wearing a steel-helmet and/or: 'Wolfshook' collar-tab flanked by the Dutch national colours ie. tri-coloured arm-shield. These blocks were sold as 'regular ie. official' postal-stamps and of each sold stamp the extra added value of '87½ Cent' (ie. '2½ Cent') went to this special fund and was used to gather extra funds for the soldiers serving at the front. The price is naturally for the complete set of both postage-stamp blocks. Simply a very nice and actually not that often encountered Dutch volunteer related item that is I deem accordingly priced!
