Attractive - and quite unusual! - WWI-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class) being a maker- (ie. 'O'-) marked example that comes stored in its luxuriously-styled, black-coloured etui as issued and/or found
This is a very attractive example of an (I deem) surely issued- but hardly worn example of a WWI-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class) being a maker- (ie. I deem 'O'-) marked example that comes stored in its truly luxuriously-styled, black-coloured etui as issued and/or recently found. The detail on this example is nicely preserved: it has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and/or minimally tarnished age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross came with its perid ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') that is neatly stored in the upper-lid as to be expected. The IC truly retains nice details and shows a makers'-designation that (I deem) reads: 'O'- (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. 'shiny-style'-) core and is void of any real damage or paint-loss and has been truly nicely preserved. The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished (as can be seen on the pictures). The IC came stored in its (unusually seen!) shiny, black-coloured and luxuriously-styled, etui. This etui - that is totally void of a makers'-designation - measures 8,2 x 7 x 2 cms. and shows a beige-white-coloured (and neatly velvet-based!) inlay that shows a clear imprint of the cross it held for decades. Simply a very attractive - and most certainly unusually-found! - 'boxed', WWI-period 'EKII. Klasse' that is with certainty accordingly priced!
