Moderately used pair of mid-war-period- (ie. 'M43'-pattern), WH (Heeres) NCO-type shoulderstraps: 'Oberfeldwebel des Grenadier-Rgts. 992' (part of the '278. Infanterie-Div.')
This is a truly very attractive - and as such actually scarcely encountered! - fully matching pair of (typical) mid- (ie. somewhat later-) war-period- (ie.: 'M43'-pattern), WH (Heeres) NCO-type shoulderstraps as piped in the neat bright-green- (ie. 'hellgrüner'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for usage by an: 'Oberfeldwebel des Grenadier-Regiments 992' (being amongst others part of the '278. Infanterie-Division') (or: NCO ie. sergeant first-class who served within the army infantry-related rifle-unit ie. regiment, numbered: '992') and that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem clearly issued- and/or moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The neat shoulderstraps - which each measure approximately 12,2 cms. in length as more often - have the 'standard-pattern'- and/or typical, field-grey-coloured and/or woolen-based 'upperdecks' and come naturally mounted onto their original tongues (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair was moderately worn and comes as found and/or stored for decades: it does show some moderate age, wear and/or staining. The shoulderstraps - which show the neat and desirable, bright-green- (ie. 'hellgrüner'-) coloured and/or typical rayon-type piping attached - show the silverish-coloured- (ie. non-'sub-dued') NCO-braid and two pairs of (fully matching, smaller-sized and/or I deem Buntmetall-based) double '9'- and/or: '2'- numerals (ie. cyphers or: 'Ziffern') and four (regular-sized and aluminium-based) pips period-attached denoting that the NCO who wore these straps held the rank of an: 'Oberfeldwebel' (or sergeant first-class). This particular Grenadier-Regiment 992 saw loads of fierce action on the Italian battle-fronts. Simply an attractive - and very desirable! - pair of mid-war-period, so-called: 'M43'-pattern-shoulderstraps as was intended for - and clearly worn by! - an: 'Oberfeldwebel des Grenadier-Regiments 992': with certainty one of the most attractive, 'cyphered' and 'Grenadiere'-related, NCO-shoulderstrap-pairs I had on offer for quite some time!
