The very attractive - and actually truly scarely seen! - pair of WH (Heeres) shoulderboards on offer here are 'text-book'-examples of the typical Heeres'-type, 'Panzer-Reserve'-related shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type) 'upperdecks': they are (I deem) just moderately used- ie. worn and show some minimal age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable bright-pink- (ie. 'rosaroter'-) coloured branchcolour and has the typical dove-grey-coloured 'underlay' ie. secondary branchcolour as to be expected. The boards were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected and never had any tongues attached: they were with certainty intended to be used as a pair of the 'sew-in'-type. The neat boards measure approximately 12,2 cms. in length each and were (I deem) clearly worn- ie. carefully tunic-removed (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair shows a fully matching set of (neatly golden-toned, 'Buntmetall'-based, smaller-sized- and/or fully identical) Gothic-styled: 'P'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern'), a set of (equally-styled and also smaller-sized) '1'-numerals and two pairs of (identically-styled, also 'Buntmetall'-based and regular-sized) pips period-attached denoting that the pair belonged to an reserve-officer ie. captain who served within the: 'Panzerjäger-Abteilung 6' (ie. anti-tank- or tank-destroyer-unit, numbered: '6'). All eight devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or quite shiny!) age-patina. Taking into account the fact that the set has silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was used onto a 'front-used' tunic. These 'standard'-model officers'-type shoulderboards could be used with the regular-style officers-tunics but could naturally also be worn on the specific, black-woolen 'Panzer' so-called: 'wrap-around'-tunics. It should, moreover, be mentioned that these neatly 'cyphered', 'Heeres'-type 'Panzerjäger'-shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'scarce'. Simply a very attractive shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: 'Hauptmann der Reserve des Panzerjäger-Abteilungs 1'!
