Pair of WH (Kriegsmarine) neatly 'cyphered', officers'-type shoulderboards (ie. 'Schulterstücke') as was intended for usage by an: 'Oberstleutnant (Ingenieur') that served within the 'Küsten-Art.-Trpn.'

This is an attractive - fully matching and actually quite scarcely encountered! - pair of WH (Kriegsmarine) neatly 'cyphered', officers'-type shoulderboards (ie. 'Schulterstücke für Offiziere der Kriegsmarine') having the darker-green-toned 'underlays' as was specifically intended for usage by an: 'Oberstleutnant (Ingenieur') ie. enigineer-officer having a rank comparable with a lieutnant-colonel who served within the naval 'Küsten-Artillerie-Truppen' and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. just moderately used- and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The neat shoulderboards - which 'upperdecks' are executed in greyish-silver-coloured so-called: 'braid' - measure approx. 11,2 cms. in length each and show the darker-green-coloured- and/or 'smooth'-woolen-based 'underlays' as to be expected. The boards never had a tongue attached and were intended to be used on a (field-grey-coloured) tunic: the set was with certainty once worn and was clearly tunic-removed (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards do both show a (golden-toned- and/or typical 'Buntmetall'-based) 'steering-wheel'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') and a pair of (equally-styled) pips each period-attached and were thus intended for a (high-ranked!) officer holding the rank of: 'Oberstleutnant (Ingenieur') which rank can be compared with an army 'Oberstleutnant' (or lieutnant-colonel). The boards truly show extraordinary detail and are great example of the employed craftmenship used in the days. The pair is just a tiny bit tarnished ie. stained (simply caused by years of storage ie. moderate wear). The pair originates from a private-household in Germany and was never before part of any collection. Simply a very attractive - and/or truly detailed! - high-ranked, WH (Kriegsmarine) officers'-type shoulderboard-pair that was specifically intended for usage onto the field-grey-coloured 'Küsten-Artillerie-Truppen'-attire: this is just the first such neat 'cyphered' naval-pair I ever had on offer!
