Pair of WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards: 'Hauptmann eines (Sturm)Artillerie-Rgts. o. Abtgs.'
The attractive - and I deem just moderatly used and/or carefully tunic-removed - WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboard-pair is a typical, 'text-book'-example of the Heeres'-type, officers'-pattern shoulderboards and has the silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks': the boards were clearly used and/or once tunic-attached and do show some obvious age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable bright-red- (ie. 'hochroter'-) coloured (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type'- ie. 'moleskin-type'-wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues attached and were clearly intended (and used!) as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 10,7 cms. in length each and never had any numerals, nor cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') attached: both boards do show four (fully identical and very unusually glass(!)-based pips period-attached (as can be seen on the pictures) denoting that the officer who wore this set held the rank of a: 'Hauptmann' (ie. captain). Taking into account the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-tunic'. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: 'Hauptmann eines (Sturm)Artillerie-Regiments o. Abteilungs' and that is with certainty accordingly priced!
