2-pieced (post) WWI-period medal-bar (ie. 'Spange') showing resp. a: 'FKK 1914-18 mit Schwn.' and a: a: 'Schlesisches Bewährungsabzeichen der II. Kl.' (or: 'Schlesischer Adler 2. Stufe') that both come period-mounted as a: 'Doppelspange'
This is an attractive - albeit I deem just moderately used- and/or worn - example of a two-pieced (and non-detachable) medal-bar (ie. 'Orden- o. Doppelspange') showing respectively a: 'Frontkämpferkreuz 1914-18' (ie.: 'Kriegsteilnehmerkreuz mit Schwertern') and a: 'Schlesisches Bewährungsabzeichen der II. Klasse' (or: 'Schlesischer Adler 2. Stufe') both examples coming in an overall very nice- (albeit I deem just minimally used- ie. worn-), condition. Both medals originate from a private-household in Germany where they were recently uncovered and both are nicely preserved examples that seem to have never been cleaned nor polished: both come in an equally tarnished- ie. dusty condition and also come mounted on their period-attached ribbons. The FKK 1914-18 shows a clear makers'-designation on its back (that reads: 'Sch. & H.'). The detail on this award is nicely preserved but it does show some tarnished age-patina and some minimal staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The (black-toned) 'Schlesischer Adler 2. Stufe' shows two (not separately-attached- ie. 'integrieter') silver-toned devices (ie. 'Halbmond' and/or text-banner: 'für Schlesien' as can be noticed on the pictures). The attractive piece - that is totally void of a makers'-designation as more often - truly retains most of its (just minimally tarnished) black-toned finish. The medal-bar is nicely 'backed' with a piece of bright-red-toned wool and comes mounted onto its (still functional) pin- ie. pin/catch-set-up. Simply a very attractive example of this neat, (post) WWI-period award that comes mounted as a: 'Doppelspange' and that comes actually not that often for sale!
