The truly very attractive piece - which was presumably issued but that was simply never worn nor even mounted - came together with its 'mint- ie. unissued', neatly pre-folded, non-confectioned (and approx. 29 cms. long-sized) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt'). The cross - which shows a clear makers'-designation: '23' stamped into its ring - was with certainty never cleaned and has a very attractive and only minimally tarnished age-patina: it shows, however, all of its off-factory-applied so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and has just a minimally 'tarnished' finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a truly very nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. clearly 'satin'-like ie 'matted'-style) core: it is void of any paint-damage or alike (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an evident specimen that was produced by the maker ie. 'Hersteller' named: 'Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Heeresbedarf in der Graveur- u. Ziselierung' as was based in the town of Berlin and has truly nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable - and not that easily found! - maker. The IC was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply an attractive and clearly maker-marked 'EK II. Klasse' that will be very hard to be upgraded!
