This is an attractive - very desirable and with certainty rarely encountered! - example of a so-called: WH Memel- (ie. 'Memelland'-) 'Anschluss'- (ie. occupation-) medal: '22 März 1939' (as was given to all members of the armed forces that participated in the German occupation of the Memelland, which started on 22 March 1939) being a clearly used example of the so-called: 'slanted G'-type) that came together with its original, non-confectioned nor shortened- (ie. 19 cms. sized-) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit most certainly issued- but probably never ie. hardly worn-), condition. The medal - which is as stated above of the so-called: 'slanted G-pattern' as can be noticed on the pictures - is a truly attractive example having great pronounced detail: all of its (bright-) golden-toned finish is nicely preserved whereas the medal has an attractive tarnish ie. age-patina without showing any defaults. The piece was, moreover, never cleaned nor polished and comes as recently found. Simply a very attractive - and rarely seen! - Memel 'Anschluss'- (ie. occupation-) medal: '22 März 1939' that will be hard to be upgraded and that is priced according to its unmistaken rarity and/or desirability!
