Officers'- (ie. evt. NCO-) type, so-called: 'Schutzmannschaften'- (ie. 'Schuma'-) armshield being executed in silver-grey-coloured 'flatwire'-type thread onto a field-grey-coloured background
This is a very attractive - and actually rarely encountered! - I deem officers'- (ie. eventually NCO-) type - so-called: 'Schutzmannschaften'- (ie. 'Schuma'-) armshield (ie. 'Ärmelabzeichen') being a neat example as was executed in silver-grey-coloured, 'flatwire'-type thread onto a typical black (ie. field-grey-) coloured background and depicting the text: 'Treu, Tapfer, Gehorsam' (which can be translated as: 'loyal, brave and obeying') and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. 'virtually mint- ie. unissued' and/or never confectioned- nor tunic-attached-) condition. The neat arm-badge is executed in silverish coloured (ie. as stated above 'flatwire'-based-) thread onto a typical black- (ie. field-grey-) coloured background and as such signified the close interrelation between the - notorious! - 'Schuma' units and the German police (ie. 'Polizei') ie. Waffen-SS and/or SD units. I personally think that this badge was intended for officers'- (ie. NCO-) usage, especially taking into account that it was executed in the neat 'flatwire'-weave pattern (as almost certainly produced by the 'BeVo' company of Wuppertal). The neat piece comes in a truly 'mint'- ie. non-folded and/or unconfectioned condition and just shows some minimal age ie. staining caused by decades of storage only. These notorious 'Schützmannschaften' (ie. 'Schuma') were staffed with men entirely coming from the Baltic states and had a very bad reputation. Simply a nice and rarely encountered 'Ostvölker'-related armbadge that was intended for an officer who served within the notorious 'Schutzmannschaften'- (ie. 'Schuma'-) Truppen'!
