Truly worn - but regrettably incomplete but nevertheless rarely encountered! - WH (Heeres) 'Narvik'-campaign-shield as executed in silver-toned 'Buntmetall' (ie. Cupal) and that comes in a clearly issued- (and once tunic-attached-), condition
This is an attractive - truly worn but regrettably incomplete but nevertheless fairly rarely encountered! - WH (Heeres) 'Narvik'-campaign-shield being a very detailed example as was executed in (tarnished) silver-toned (and naturally non-magnetic) metal (ie. 'Buntmetall' or: Cupal) and that comes in a clearly issued- (and with certainty worn- ie. once tunic-attached-), condition. The (naturally non-magnetic) shield regrettably misses it 'back-plate' and was clearly tunic-attached as such: it shows two (tiny) holes on it bottom present to sew the piec onto a tunic (as can be seen on the pictures). The shield shows some regular aging and/or tarnish caused by years of storage but has nevertheless retained extraordinary detail. Most of its (minimally tarnished) silver-toned finish has been nicely preserved as is not always the case (as can be seen on the pictures). The shield was with certainty never cleaned nor polished and comes as recently found at a private German household: it was never before part of a collection. It should be noted that these 'Buntmetall'- (ie. Cupal-) based WH (Heeres) 'Narvik'-campaign-shields are quite rarely encountered: a complete and pristine preserved example would most certainly fetch the double of my asking-price. Simply a very attractive and naturally 100% garuanteed original and I deem early-war-period, 'Heeres'-pattern 'Narvik'-campaign-shield that is priced according to its unmistaken rarity and/or desirability!
