Single - but nevertheless rarely seen! - WH (Heerer) neatly 'cyphered', officers'-type shoulderboard as was intended for a: 'Leutnant des Kradschützen-Bataillons 8 der Pz.- u. Inf.-Div.'

This is a truly attractive - albeit regrettably single but nevertheless truly scarcely found! - WH (Heeres) officers'-pattern and neatly 'cyphered' shoulderboard as piped in the desirable bright-pink- (ie. 'rosaroter'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for - and with certainty used and/or worn by! - a: 'Leutnant des Kradschützen-Bataillons 8 der Pz.- u. Inf.-Div.' (or: junior-officer and lieutnant who served within the reconnaissance, motorcycle-unit numbered: '8') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The strap shows the desirable bright-pink- (ie. 'rosaroter'-) coloured branchcolour (and is executed in the typical 'smooth-type' wool). It never had a tongue attached (it was used a board of the 'sew-in'-pattern) and measures approximately 11,5 cms. in length: it was just moderately worn- ie. carefully tunic-removed (as can be seen on the pictures). The board shows a neat (and actually rarely seen!) golden-toned (Gothic-styled, smaller-sized- and/or: 'Buntmetall'-based) so-called: 'K'-'cypher (ie. 'Ziffer'), and equally-styled and smaller-sized '8'-numeral (ie. 'Ziffer') period-attached, denoting that the lieutnant who was issued and used this board, served within one of the: 'Kradschützen-Bataillone der Panzer- u. Infanterie-Divisionen (mot)' (ie. reconnaissance motor-cycle-units). Both devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and somewhat stained age-patina. It should be mentioned that these 'Heeres'-type, 'Panzer- o. Kradschützen'-related shoulderboards are actually hard to come by and can easily be graded 'scarce'. This particular board originated from a larger cloth- ie. 'cyphered' shoulderstrap-collection I recently acquired for the web-site and shows - as stated above - just moderate usage ie. wear (just some age, dust and/or staining is visible and/or present). Simply an attractive shoulderboard that belonged to a: 'Leutnant des Kradschützen-Bataillons 8 der Pz.- u. Inf.-Div.': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
