WH (Luftwaffe) hand-embroidered, trade- ie. special-career-patch (ie. 'Tätigkeitsabzeichen') of the first pattern as was specifically intended for staff-members serving within the: 'Flakartillerie-Trpn.'
This is a very attractive - and I deem just minimally used- and/or worn but nevertheless truly rarely found! - example of a WH (Luftwaffe) hand-embroidered, so-called: trade- ie. special-career-patch (ie. 'Tätigkeitsabzeichen') of the first pattern showing a bright silver-toned illustration of a 88cms. Flak-canon (ie. 'Flakgeschützrohr') as was specifically intended for staff-members serving within the: 'Flakartillerie-Truppen' (or: anti-aircraft-troops) and that comes in an overall very nice- (and presumably worn- ie. once tunic-attached-), condition. These rarely seen trade-patches (the first pattern) were instituted in October 1936 and saw only limited usage: just one year later they were replaced by the more commonly encountered 2nd. pattern 'Flakartillerie-Tätigkeitsabzeichen'. The neat - and truly quality-produced! - badge on offer here shows a additionally-added linnen-based and black-coloured 'backing' and is very nicely hand-embroidered on a LW bluish-grey-coloured- and/or woolen-based (ie. officers-type!) background and shows some minor staining and/or moderate wear. These badges ranked actually amongst the 'award-category' and came together with an official award-document and had to be properly entered in both 'Soldbuch' and 'Wehrpass'. Simply an attractive - and truly not that often encountered! - LW-'Tätigkeits-Abzeichen' of the 'Extra Qualität' that is with certainty accordingly priced!
