This is an attractive - and actually fairly scarcely found! - example of a greyish-coloured- (and/or typical zinc-based) WH (Heeres-) ie. 'Gebirgsjäger'- (ie. mountain-troopers-) related ID-disc (ie. 'Erkennungsmarke') that is bearing the clearly stamped unit-designation that simply reads: '8./G.J.R. 137' (and as such being a disc that was intended for a soldier or NCO who - I deem - served within the eight company of the: 'Gebirgsjäger-Regiment', numbered: '137' and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit clearly used ie. worn- and somewhat corroded-), condition. The attractive disc comes in overall nice condition (and is executed in an attractive letter-type!) and shows the clear evidence of having been used ie. worn (it shows somewhat torn-out holes as can be seen on the pictures). The disc is void of the bearers'-blood-group-type something that is more often but not always observed. The disc was never cleaned nor polished (it is still a bit stained and/or dirty) and comes as issued and worn. The disc came stored in its (equally used) leather-based pouch (ie. 'Tragetasche') that is still functional and complete . Simply an attractive - and actually scarcely found! - WH (Heeres-) ie. 'Gebirgsjäger'-related ID-disc-set that is with certainty accordingly priced!
