'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Kl. mit Schwertern' being a maker- (ie. '84'-) marked and typical 'Buntmetall'-based specimen as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Carl Poellath'

This is an attractive - and I deem just moderately used- ie. worn! - example of a: 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwertern' (or: War Merits' Cross first class with swords) being a clearly maker- (ie. '84'-) marked and/or typical 'Buntmetall'-based specimen as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Carl Poellath' as was based in the town of Schrobenhausen and that comes as issued and/or stored for decades. The attractive - and I deem early- ie. mid-war-period - piece is executed in (bright) silver-coloured and/or: 'Buntmetall'-based metal and comes in an overall nice (and I deem moderately worn- ie. used-), condition. The non-magnetic- and/or non-vaulted (ie. non-converse-shaped) cross shows a minimally tarnished age-patina and has most certainly never been cleaned nor polished: it retains still, however, most of its 'frosted' silverish-coloured finish as can be seen on the pictures. The cross comes naturally mounted onto its functional (flute-shaped) pin- and/or: period catch (ie. catch-set-up) which are both present and unaltered (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece comes as found and/or stored for decades. Simply a great occasion to acquire a neat, maker-marked: 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwertern' for a justified price!
