'Virtually mint' - albeit regrettably incomplete - example of a WH (Heeres ie. Waffen-SS) 'Demjansk'-campaign-shield as executed in typical magnetic, so-called: 'Eisenblech'
This is a truly very attractive - simply never used nor tunic-attached but regrettably incomplete but nevertheless very detailed! - example of the (actually nowadays scarcely encountered!) WH (Heeres ie. Waffen-SS) so-called: 'Demjansk'-campaign-shield that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. simply never used- nor once tunic-attached-), condition. The (magnetic and minimally converse-shaped) shield - which is executed in greyish-silver-coloured (ie. somewhat 'matted') so-called: 'Eisenblech' - comes as recently found: it retains all its four prongs (which were never bent and that are still fully functional) and misses its back-plate (and woolen cloth) as can be seen on the pictures). The shield shows some minimal aging caused by storage and age: some minimal staining is visible and/or present but the shield still retains very nice detail as to be expected. The shield was recently found at a private-household in Germany and was simply stored as such for decades: it was never before part of a collection. It should furthermore be mentioned that these 'Demjansk'-campaign-shields are nowadays hard to come by. Simply a neat - albeit incomplete but nevertheless 100% original! - example of this collectable and desirable campaign-shield that nowadays is not that often offered for sale: I deem that I have priced this attractive but incomplete example, accordingly!
