The attractive - and fairly large-sized arm-badge, sized: 9,2 x 8,1 cms. - is executed in bright-pink-toned linnen onto the typical, darker-blue-coloured 'Feuerwehr'-type woolen-based cloth and that was (I deem) just moderately used- ie. worn. It does show some minimal storage-age ie. staining but still retains great pronounced detail: the used machine-embroidery is simply stunning (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is not backed, something that is more often seen (as can be noticed on the pictures). These unusal 'Feuerwehr'-related arm-eagles can also be encountered without having an embroidered town-name above the eagle: this is a 'named' version showing the specific town-embroidery that reads: 'Schwanenstadt'. This example was recently uncovered at a private household and was never before in collectors-hands. It should be noted that these neat 'Feuerwehr Ärmeladler' showing an additional towns'-designation can easily be graded 'fairly scarce': even more so when there belong to cities in Austria!
