'Nahkampfspange in Silber' being a maker- (ie. 'FLL'-) marked so-called: '3rd pattern'-specimen that came in its (rare!) carton-based box
This is a very attractive - and I deem simply never worn- nor used! - example of a so-called: 'Nahkampfspange in Silber' (or: silver-class close-combat clasp ie. CCC) being a clearly maker- (ie. 'FLL'-) marked and/or (typical) minimally converse-shaped, so-called: 'third pattern'-specimen as was produced by the maker- (ie. 'Hersteller') 'Friedrich Linden' (ie. 'FLL') and that came stored in its (extremely rarely found!) carton-based box and that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem never used nor worn- ie. 'virtually mint- ie. unissued'-), condition. The piece - which has a very detailed and/or pronounced appearance - truly retains all of its bright-toned silver-coloured finish and naturally retains its 'crimped' and metal-based 'back-plate' (that comes a bit loose). The 'Spange' is as stated above a minimally converse-shaped example that comes mounted onto its (fully functional- and/or silver-coloured) flute-shaped pin (and/or typical 'thicker-shaped-wire'-type catch- ie. crimped-in catch-set-up) both which are of course still present, totally unaltered and/or fully functional. A similar example is also described in the excellent reference-book entitled: 'The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II' by Thomas M. Durante wherein this particular pattern is given the unique reference-numeral: '2.5 - 'FLL Fat-Bellied Pin - 3rd'-pattern. Of specific interest is, moreover, the fact that this example came stored (still wrapped in its piece of wrapping-paper!) in its period carton-based box that shows on its top the printed text: 'Nahkampfspange - versilbert'. This box - which is actually X-times more rarely found than the award itself! - comes also in a wonderful and totally undamaged and complete condition. The neat piece was recently found as such at a private-household in Germany and was never before part of a collection. Simply a very attractive example of a silver-class 'Nahkampfspange': it should be noted that original examples of this neat - and fairly uncommon combat-award - are very hard to find: even more si when they come still stored in their extremely rarely found carton-based box! .I deem that I have priced this superb silver-class example, accordingly!
