Single, 'M44'-pattern, 'simplified' WH (Heeres) EM-type shoulderstrap: 'Soldat u. Offz.-Anw. einer Pioniers-Abtlgs.'
The neat later-war period- (ie. so-called: 'M44'-pattern-) 'simplified', WH (Heeres) 'Pioniere'-related shoulderstrap - which is piped in the neat black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour - measures approximately 11 cms. in length and has the neat black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured- (and/or typical 'silk-like'-type-) piping attached (as is more often encountered with these later-war-period straps). The strap - which was intended for usage by a: 'Soldat einer Pionier-Abteilungs' (or: simple soldier who served with an army-engineers'-unit) is constructed following the typical '1944 cloth-minimising production-manner' using different shades of wool and/or material. It comes naturally mounted onto its functional tongue. The strap shows a (double-sized) slip-on (ie. 'Lasche') period- (and firmly) attached (which are executed in bluish-grey-coloured (ie. sub-dued), standard-issue-pattern NCO-braid) denoting that the soldier who wore this strap was an: 'Offiziers-Anwärter' ie. officers'-candidate (as can be seen on the pictures). It should be noted that all 'M44'-style, EM-type straps are actually quite hard to encounter and can easily be graded 'scarce': even more so when they are piped in the scarcely-seen black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour!
