WH (Heeres) 'Kraftwagen-Wimpel für Offiziere' (being a moderately used example that retains most of its 'Mica'-based protective-cover)
This is a very attractive - surely very desirable and not that often offered for sale! - example of a: WH (Heeres) 'Kraftwagen-Wimpel für Offiziere' (ie. officers-type, vehicle-pennant) being a (typical double-sided- and nicely machine-embroidered) specimen that that retains most of its period 'Mica'-based protective-cover and that comes in an overall wonderful and/or fully untouched, condition. These specific pieces were (for example) used onto the various WH-staff-cars throughout the entire war (they would be flown on a small-sized metal-based staff or pole that was attached to the fender of the automobile or other vehicle it was attached to). The piece - that shows a silver-white-toned and neatly machine-embroidered (ie. 'BeVo'-like) eagle-device on both sides - which are mounted onto a greenish (ie. field-grey-) coloured background, the correct colour for an army Heeres officer. The piece measures from tip to centre approximately 33 cms. and has a height of approx. 20 cms.: it shows beige-white-toned (and genuine leather-based) fortified borders (as can be noticed on the pictures). The piece shows some minimal damage (ie. 'cracked'-areas) of the 'Mica'-based protective-cover (visible on both sides). Simply a very nice, service-worn example of a desirable WH (Heeres) 'Kraftwagen-Wimpel für Offiziere' that is I deem accordingly priced. Just the first such desirable item I ever had on offer!
