This is an attractive - and actually truly rarely encountered! - WH (Kriegsmarine) neatly machine-embroidered, so-called: career- ie. specialist-armbadge (ie. 'Tätigkeits-Abzeichen') as executed in multi-coloured linnen onto a white-coloured (and also linnen-based) backing as was specifically intended to signify participation in the: 'Sonderausbildung für U-Boots- u. Berggungs-Taucher' (ie. specific submarine scuba-diver course) and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. I deem probably issued- albeit simply never used- nor tunic-attached-), condition. The badge - which was to be mounted on the upper-arm-regions of the various white-coloured, naval (work)tunics - depicts a detailed and bright-red-coloured 'divers-helmet'-device and shows 3 chevrons (as can be seen on the pictures). The badge is executed in bright-red- (and bright-blue) coloured linnen onto a beige-white-coloured and/or typical, linnen-based background. The piece does show extraordinary craftmenship and is additonally backed with a piece of greyish-toned linnen as more often seen. The piece just shows some minimal age ie. staining caused by decades of storage only. It sounds maybe strange but all WH (Kriegsmarine) career- ie. specialist-armbadges as specifically related to the various naval 'U-Boots- u. Bergungstaucher'-units are truly very hard to encounter and can easily be graded 'rare'. Simply a very attractive example that is I deem with certainty accordingly priced!
