The attractive - and most certainly very detailed! - arm-badge retains both its original prongs and also retains its period, metal-based (and non-magnetic!) 'back-plate' in place as is more often encountered: it was never cleaned and truly retains most of its just minimally tarnished, bright golden-yellow-toned surface (as can be seen on the pictures). As stated above, was this nicely pronounced (and non-magnetic) arm-badge presumably issued but simply never worn: it was period-mounted onto a (field-grey-coloured) piece of wool and still retains its (fully preserved) beige-toned- and paper-based backing-material in place (as can be noticed on the pictures). Simply an attractive example of a WH (Heeres- ie. Waffen-SS) so-called: 'Kraftfahrbewährungs-Abzeichen in Gold' that will be hard to be upgraded!
