Superb - regrettably single but nevertheless rarely encountered! - WH (Heeres) officers'-type, 'cyphered' shoulderboard that belonged to a: 'Major u. Kriegs- o. Feldrichter des Heeres'

This is a truly attractive - regrettably single but nevertheless rarely encountered! - WH (Heeres) officers'-type, neatly 'cyphered' shoulderboard as piped in the rarely seen darker-purple- (ie. 'bordeaux-roter'-) coloured branchcolour that was intended for - and most certainly worn as such by! - a: 'Major u. Kriegs- o. Feldrichter des Heeres' (ie.: judicial officer ie. field-judge with the comparable army-rank of major) and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit clearly issued, worn and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The board has the silver-greyish-coloured- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-) so-called: 'upperdeck' and shows a neat (golden-bronze-toned) 'sword'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') period-attached denoting the officers'-rank of: 'Major u. Kriegs- o. Feldrichter'. The neat device is just a tiny bit tarnished from normal age and/or storage for decades but is very pronounced and detailed (as can be seen on the pictures). The board - that measures approx. 11.4 cms. in length - never had a tongue attached and was most certainly used as a board of the 'sew-in'-pattern and does show some obvious wear, age and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that the 'sword'-cypher was attached to the board BEFORE it was fully assembled. This very nice - and truly rarely encountered! - shoulderboard was recently found at a private-household and came as such straight from the family who kept and stored this piece for decades. Simply a very attractive - and with certainty desirable! - neatly 'cyphered' shoulderboard as executed in one of the most rarely encountered branchcolours of the 'Deutsche Wehrmacht': I deem that I have priced this rare and interesting board according to its obvious rarity and/or desirabilty!
