This is an attractive example of a typical later-war-period WH (Heeres) so-called: 'M44'-pattern- (and/or trapezoid-shaped) breasteagle (ie. 'Brustadler für Mannschaften u. Unteroffiziere des Heeres') being a field-grey-coloured example that is executed in the neat 'BeVo'-weave pattern and that is (as more often) void of an interwoven 'BeVo-Wuppertal'-makers'-designation and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. I deem 'virtually mint'- albeit possibly once tunic-attached-), condition. The piece - which is executed in field-grey- ie. greyish-coloured linnen - comes as 'straightly cut of the role' and will be hard to be upgraded. This was the 'standard'-issue WH breasteagle as was used on most (later-war and/or battle-dress shaped) 'M-44-model- tunics. The eagle comes of course in a fully unconfectioned condition and just bears some truly minimal staining and/or wrinkled appearance simply caused by years of storage only: moreover, does it show some machine-stitching-holes on its top (possible due to having been once tunic-attached). Simply a very nice example: great to restore any M44 army-tunic or ideally fitted to be stored in any eagle- ie. cloth-collection!
