The truly attractive - and neatly 'cyphered'! - WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboard is piped in the desirable bright- darker-purple-red- (ie. 'bordeaux-roter'-) coloured branchcolour and was as such specifically intended for usage by a: 'Leutnant eines (Nebel)Werfer-Lehr-Abteilungs o. Regiments' (or: lieutnant first-class who served within a within a later-war-period, smoke-troops-related, training- ie. schooling unit or regiment) and that comes in an overall nice- (I deem surely issued- and/or moderately worn-), condition. The attractive shoulderboard is a typical 'text-book'-example of the 'Heeres'-type, '(Nebel)Werfer'-related shoulderboard and has the silverish-grey-coloured (ie. somewhat sub-dued) 'upperdeck' (making this a board that was - I deem - specifically intended for usage on a 'front-used' tunic). The board shows the desirable darker-purple-red- (ie. 'bordeaux-roter'-) coloured branchcolour (and was constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The board comes mounted onto its period-attached (and unusually shaped- and/or sized) tongue (as can be seen on the pictures). The board measures approximately 10,8 cms. in length and shows a single (larger-sized, Gothic-styled- and/or: 'Buntmetall'-based) so-called: 'L'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') and (equally-styled) pip period-attached denoting the officers'-rank of: 'Oberleutnant' (ie. lieutnant first-class). Both devices are moderately stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine (albeit minimally darkened) age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The board - that originated from a smaller collection of single, 'cyphered' boards I recently acquired for the web-site - came with a pebbled-styled, field-grey tunic-button attached and is truly void of any real age, heavy wear nor staining (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply an attractive, neatly 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) shoulderboard that belonged to an: 'Oberleutnant eines (Nebel)Werfer-Lehr-Abteilungs o. Regiments'!
