Attractive - and moderately used- ie. tunic-removed! - example of a WH (Heeres ie. Waffen-SS) so-called: 'Demjansk'-campaign-shield as executed in magnetic, so-called: 'Eisenblech'
This is an attractive - and/or truly detailed! - example of the (actually nowadays truly scarcely encountered!) WH (Heeres ie. Waffen-SS) so-called: 'Demjansk'-campaign-shield that comes in an overall nice- (albeit - I deem - surely worn- and/or once tunic-attached-), condition. The (magnetic and just minimally converse-shaped-) shield - which is executed in greyish-silver-coloured so-called: 'Eisenblech' - comes naturally complete with its metal-based back-plate and cloth (ie. woolen-based) backing: all four of its period pins ie. prongs are still present and firmly in place and also retains most of its protective, paper-based backing (as can be seen on the pictures). The shield shows some minimal age and/or staining simlply caused by moderate wear: some minimal dirt- and/or staining is visible and/or present, but the shield still retains truly extraordinary detail as to be expected (most ie. most of its period-applied finish is present and or preserved). The shield was of course never cleaned nor polished and comes as found. It was found at a private-household in Germany and was simply stored as such for decades: it was never before part of a collection. It should furthermore be mentioned that these 'Demjansk' campaign-shields are nowadays quite hard to come by. Still an attractive - and naturally 100% original! - example of this collectable and desirable campaign-shield that is accordingly priced
