Attractive - and clearly worn! - partly zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based version of a WH (LW) 'Fallschirmschützen-Abzeichen' (being a non-maker-marked example having a 'Cupal'-based eagle-device as was produced by the 'S&L'-company) Attractive - and clearly worn! - partly zinc- (ie. This is an attractive - and I deem mid- (ie. later-) war-period - partly zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based version of a WH (Luftwaffe) 'Fallschirmschützen-Abzeichen' (or: paratroopers-war-badge) being a typical non-maker-marked example that was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Steinhauer & Lück' having a 'loose' (ie. riveted) bright-golden-coloured (and I deem 'Cupal'-based!) eagle-device originally-attached and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit clearly used- and/or worn-), condition. The neat and detailed badge - which as stated above has been clearly worn - comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin- and/or functional (unaltered) catch (ie. catch set-up). These mid- (ie. later-) war-period badges show a 'loose' and/or detailed golden-coloured and (I deem) 'Cupal'-based eagle-device attached (by means of two rivets as is visible on the back of the badge). These zinc-based badges show, however, nice and/or pronounced detail overall. The badge truly retains most of its period golden-coloured finish and is just minimally tarnished as is more often encountered. The badge is totally void of a makers'-designation on its back but can neverthless certainty be attributed to the maker: 'Steinhauer & Lück' based in the town of Lüdenscheid: the specific details on this badge fully corroborate this. A similar example is also described in the excellent reference-book entitled: 'The German Luftwaffe & Heer Paratrooper Badges of World War II - 1936-1945' by Thomas M. Durante wherein this particular pattern is given the unique reference-designation: 'S&L - A-Type - Notched Cupal Eagle'-variant. Simply an attractive - and garuanteed original! - zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) ie. 'Cupal'-based 'S&L'-version of this desirable Luftwaffe-war-badge!
