Attractive - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' officers'-type shoulderboards as piped in the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for a: 'Hauptmann des Infanterie-Regiments 78'

The attractive - and just moderately used and/or carefully tunic-removed! - shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres'-type, officers'-pattern shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks': they were most certainly once tunic-attached and show some minimal age and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type'- ie. 'moleskin-type'-wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues attached and were clearly intended (and used!) as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 12 cms. in length each and show and show each a (fully matching, golden-toned, larger-sized and/or 'Buntmetall'-based) so-called: '7'- and/or: '0'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') period-attached: next to this does the pair show two matching sets of (golden-bronze-toned, larger-sized- and/or: 'Buntmetall'-based) pips period-attached (as can be seen on the pictures) denoting that the officer who wore this set held the rank of: 'Hauptmann' (ie. captain) who served within the: 'Infanterie-Regiment 78'. All eight devices show some age and/or staining and are a bit tarnished over the years (as can be seen on the pictures. Taking into account the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-tunic': it came together with the other 'cyphered' officers'-type shoulderboard-pair that I offer under number: 59447: both pairs once belonged to the same officer who kept and stored these pieces for decades. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: 'Hauptmann des Infanterie-Regiments 78' and that is accordingly priced!
