The truly attractive - and typical 'Buntmetall'- (ie. 'Tombak'-) based and I deem early- ie. mid-war-period! - naval war-badge is as stated above a typical maker-marked- and truly very detailed example that comes in a surely issued- and/or worn albeit overall nicely preserved, condition. It is, as such, a typical (luxuriously styled!) example that was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Schwerin' as based in the town of Berlin. The piece has an attractive age-patina and retains most (ie. almosy all) of its period-applied golden-toned finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece shows, moreover, extraordinary detail and comes naturally mounted onto its functional (flute-shaped- and/or typical golden-toned-) pin- and/or typical (silver-toned- and flatwire-type) catch(-set-up) which are both fully unaltered and of course fully functional. The badge has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and is still a tiny bit dirty ie. stained (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply an attractive - and with certainty nowadays not that often seen! - 'U-Bootkriegsabzeichen' by a very desirable maker that was never before in collectors'-hands and that is I deem accordingly priced!
