Unusual - and clearly worn! - WH (Heeres): 'DAK' (ie. 'Deutsches Afrikakorps') zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based, so-called: 'pith-helmet'-shield being a non-maker-marked example that was once mounted on the side of a tropical field-cap

This is an unusual - and clearly worn and/or cap-removed! - example of a WH (Heeres): 'DAK' (ie. 'Deutsches Afrikakorps') typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based, so-called: 'pith-helmet'-shield being a non-maker-marked example that was once mounted onto the side of a tropical field-cap and that comes in a clearly used- and/or once cap-attached-, condition. The detailed and/or pronounced! - piece misses its (three) pins and shows three, period 'drilled holes' (made in order to attach it onto a cap as can be seen on the pictures). The painted areas of the shield does retain almost all of its original black-toned colour (as can be seen on the pictures). It should be noted that mounting these badges onto a tropical field-cap was strictly against the regulations but was nevertheless sometimes done. Simply a nice opportunity to acquire an original and clearly worn 'DAK' (ie. 'Afrikakorps') so-called 'pith-helmet'-shield for a competitive price!
