The attractive - just moderately used and actually not that often seen! - WH (Kriegsmarine) 'Hilfskreuzer-Kriegsabzeichen' (or: naval auxiliary-cruiser war-badge) is - I deem - a typical, later-war-period- and/or non-maker-marked, zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based example as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Steinhauer & Lück' and that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem issued and/or just moderately worn-), condition. The piece retains a fair bit of its golden-coloured finish and shows (as always) a seperately-attached globe (which is executed in silver-toned- 'Buntmetall'-based metal) that is firmly attached by means of an intact single-pieced rivet (as can be seen on the pictures). The award comes naturally mounted onto its fully functional and/or flute-shaped (tarnished golden-toned) pin (which is of course fully functional) and has a totally unaltered (and period) catch ie. pin/catch set-up. The badge was most certainly never cleaned nor polished and simply comes as stored for decades: it only shows some minimal tarnish (and has with certainty never been cleaned nor polished though). It is - as stated above - a typical, non-maker-marked example that can unmistakenly be attributed to the maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Steinhauer & Lück' as based in the town of Lüdenscheid. Simply an attractive and I deem somewhat later-war-period WH (Kriegsmarine) 'Hilfskreuzer-Kriegsabzeichen' that is priced according to its comparative scarcity and/or unmistaken desirability!
