This medal (ie. 'Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. März 1938') was awarded to all members of the armed forces that participated in the German occupation of Austria that started on: '1. März 1938' and is a very attractive and/or detailed- (albeit issued- and/or I deem most certainly worn-) example having great pronounced detail. The medal on offer here has a nicely preserved, silverish-grey-toned finish showing some minimal tarnish and staining: it has, however, never been cleaned nor polished and truly retains a fair bit of its period silver-toned finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The detailed medal came mounted onto its neatly confectioned- (ie. pre-folded-) piece of ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') that still retains its period (copper-toned) 'clip' intended for easy tunic-attachment. Simply a very attractive - and truly worn! - Austrian 'Anschluss'-medal that is - I deem - accordingly priced!
