This is an attractive - and in this uncommonly found combination not that often seen! - two-pieced medal-bar (ie. 'Orden- o. Doppelspange') being of the non-detachable pattern respectively depicting an Austrian occupation- (ie. 'Anschluss'-) medal: '1. März 1938' and a WH Czech occupation (ie. 'Anschluss'-) medal: '1 October 1938' both pieces coming in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used- ie. most certainly worn-), condition. These 'Medaillen zur Erinnerung an den '1. März 1938 bzw. 1. Oktober 1938') were presented to all members of the armed forces that participated in the German occupation of both Austria and/or Czecoslovakia, which started repectively on the 1st of March ie. 1st of October 1938. Both awards are truly silver- (ie. golden-bronze-) coloured and 'fairly frosted' examples that are just minimally tarnished by age and/or moderate usage and wear (as can be seen on the pictures) but are void of any damage or alike. Both pieces come naturally mounted on their period ribbons and have a nicely preserved age-patina and are just a tiny bit dirty: they were - I deem - never cleaned nor polished (as can be seen on the pictures). Both awards come both 'mounted' onto a steel-based 'clasp' (having a functional pin- ie. catch) as was intended for wearing this example on a 'going-out'- ie. dress-tunic or 'Waffenrock': this 'clasp' is neatly backed with a piece of field-grey-coloured wool (as can be seen on the pictures). The 'Spange' is most certainly a period-compiled- and/or worn piece and is NOT a post-war compilation or alike and was kept as such for decades. Simply an attractive example of a two-pieced 'Ordenspange'(set) in an uncommonly found combination that will hard to be upgraded!
