The attractive pair is piped in the neat (truly bright!) pink- (ie. 'rosaroter'-) coloured branchcolour and was intended for - and/or with certainty worn by! - a: 'Hauptmann' who served within a 'Panzer-Regiment o. Abteilung' (or: captain who served within the army 'Panzer'- (ie. tank-) regiment ie. unit and comes in an overall nice- (albeit clearly used-, worn- and/or: carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The shoulderboards are 'text-book'-examples of the 'Heeres'-type-, 'Panzer'-shoulderboards and have the greyish-silver-coloured (ie. somewhat sub-dued- ie. tarnished) 'upperdecks'. The boards show the desirable bright-pink- (ie. 'rosaroter'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the typical 'smooth'-type wool as to be expected). The boards come mounted onto their (typically smaller-shaped) tongues (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 11 cms. in length each as more often encountered. The pair was most certainly issued- and/or worn and does show moderate age, wear and/or staining as to be expected. The pair has two matching sets of (light-golden-toned, larger-sized) pips, period-attached. All four devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a nice age-patina. These 'standard'-pattern, officers'-type shoulderboards could be used with the regular-styled officers'-tunics but could naturally also be worn on the specific, black-woolen 'Panzer'-type 'wrap-around'-tunics. It should be mentioned that these 'Heeres'-type, 'Panzer'-shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'scarce': simply a very attractive pair that belonged to a: 'Hauptmann' who served within a 'Panzer-Regiment o. Abteilung'!
