This is an attractive - and actually not that easily encountered and nicely enamelled! - so-called: 'Leistungsabzeichen des Standschützenverband Tirol-Vorarlberg' being a zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based so-called: 'Gauleistungsabzeichen in Gold für Pistole - 1943' that comes in a moderately worn-, albeit fully undamaged, condition. The badge - which is void of any makers'-designation as more often seen - comes naturally mounted onto its (fully functional- and/or totally unaltered) pin- ie. pin/catch set-up (as can be seen on the pictures). It retains a fully undamaged, golden-toned finish and has - as stated above- an undamaged, enamelled surface (that is just a bit stained but uncleaned). These attractive badges were awarded (in similar form and/or model) from 1941 onwards and are actually not that commonly encountered. The extensive series is also figured in the 'Heering-Hüsken Abzeichen-Katalog' wherein this particular example is referenced under the unique number: 'A61U' and given an estimated value of 220 Eu(!). This example originates from a German private-household and was never before in a collection. I deem that I did price this attractive and/or nicely preserved example of an: 'Gauleistungsabzeichen in Gold für Pistole - 1943' accordingly!
