The - truly quality-produced albeit IMO later-war-period produced - award-set holds both the regular- and/or half-sized version of the: 'Blockadebrecher-Kriegsabzeichen' (or blocade-runner war-badge). Both pieces are IMO only minimally worn and were always kept as a set (they originated from a German household where they were recently found together: they were never part of any collection). Both attractive 'Kriegsmarine'-related awards retain great pronounced detail and retain most of their 'off-factory' bluish-coloured finish and details as executed in silver-finish (see pictures): the set has IMO never been cleaned nor polished (but was, nevertheless, IMO worn). The regular-sized badge (which is of the typical zinc-based-, 'flat-back'-pattern-) shows a clearly present makers'-marking (that reads: 'Fec. Otto Placzek Berlin - Ausf. Schwerin - Berlin') whereas the neat and/or: 26 mm.-sized: 'Halbminiatur' is void of any makers'-signification (as is more often the case). The regular-sized award comes naturally mounted on its (fully functional) pin- and/or pin-catch set-up whereas the miniature is mounted on its full-sized pin as to be expected. It should be noted that these (matching!) quality-produced- and/or: 'Feinzink'-based 'Blockadebrecher-Kriegsabzeichen'-sets can easily be graded 'scarce' and are not that often offered for sale: I deem that I have priced this great set accordingly!
