This is an attractive - regrettably single but nevertheless scarcely seen! - early-period- (ie. 'Reichswehr'-era), WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' enlisted mens'-type shoulderstrap having the neat white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured and/or 'woolen'-type piping attached as was executed in neat field-grey-coloured- and/or: 'rib-cord'-like linnen as was specifically intended for usage by a: 'Soldat u. Unteroffizier-Anwärter des Infanterie-Rgts. 18' (or: simple soldier and junior-sergeant candidate who served within the infantry-regiment numbered: '15') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit just moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The strap - which measures 10,2 cms. in length - is fully 'text-book' in all facets and is executed in (typical 'Reichwehr'-era pattern) HBT-like (ie. 'rib-cord'-like-) linnen and having the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured and/or 'woolen'-type piping attached. It comes mounted onto its functional tongue: moreover, does it show the white-coloured '1'- and '8'-cyphers (ie. numerals or: 'Ziffern') which are both executed in so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei' as to be expected (as can be seen on the pictures). Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that this example shows a (firmly-attached) single stripe of (early- ie. 'dotted'-pattern) NCO-braid attached denoting the soldiers' function ie. status of: 'Unteroffizier-Anwärter'. These type of shoulderstraps are of the pre-war-period pattern and were (I deem) worn in the period around 1935/1937 but also saw usage in the early-war years. The strap only shows minimal wear and/or age and is just nicely preserved over the years (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply an attractive - and with certainty quite scarcely encountered! - very-early-period and neatly 'cyphered' shoulderstrap that belonged to a: 'Soldat u. Uffz.-Anwärter des Infanterie-Rgts. 18' and that is with certainty accordingly priced!
