This is a truly superb - and actually never before encountered and with certainty very seldomly seen! - nickle-chrome-based service-flute (ie. 'Dienstflöte') being a nicely preserved example that shows the stamped-designation: '47/38 SS' on its top and that comes in a complete- and naturally still functional, condition. The piece was recently uncovered at a private-household in Germany and was never before in collectors-hands. The piece shows some moderate age, wear and/or staining but is truly nicely preserved. It comes mounted onto its period-attached ring (intended to wear it on a lanyard or: 'Fangschnur' or alike). I am convinced that this is a neat personal-equipment item that saw service amongst the various SS-instructors ie. NCOs. I have never before encountered a similar example and deem that it most certainly merits further investigative work and/or research!
