The attractive 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse ohne Schwertern' (or: war-merits'-cross first-class without swords) on offer here is a truly attractive, so-called: 'Buntmetall'- (ie. 'Tombak-') based specimen that was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Steinhauer & Lück' as based in the town of Lüdenscheid and was just moderately used and/or worn: it came still stored in its original (and fairly luxuriously-styled!) black-coloured etui as produced, issued and/or stored for decades. The attractive - and I deem mid-war-period - specimen is executed in bright-silver-coloured- and/or: 'Buntmetall'-based metal and comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately worn- and used-), condition. The naturally non-magnetic- and/or non-vaulted cross shows a somewhat tarnished age-patina but has not recently been cleaned or polished: it still retains a fair bit of its 'frosted' silverish-coloured finish and retains most of its high-polished sides (ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten') as can be seen on the pictures. The cross comes naturally mounted onto its functional (flute-shaped) pin- and/or: period catch (ie. catch-set-up) which are both present and unaltered (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece - which shows a clear makers'-designation '4' stamped onto the back of its pin (as more often encountered by pieces produced by this maker) - comes as found and/or stored for decades. The etui comes in an equally nicely preserved condition: it is fully functional (and shows the printed, detailed and/or silverish-coloured 'KvK'-symbol on its top). The etui has a fully preserved, black-coloured- (ie. simulated velvet-based-) interior-section (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply a nice occasion to acquire an attractive and fully complete: 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse ohne Schwerter'-set by the 'Steinhauer & Lück'-company for a justified price!
