This is an attractive - and nowadays actually truly scarcely encountered! - Waffen-SS black-coloured, M43-pattern 'Panzer'-cap-trapezoid (ie. 'Mützentrapez' aka “pirate-trap”) as was executed in machine-embroidered pattern as was specifically intended for usage on the (later-war-period) M43-model field-caps (ie. 'Einheitsfeldmützen') and that comes in a never worn- ie. 'virtually mint ie. unissued'-), condition. The piece on offer here just shows some truly minimal age ie. staining simply caused by having been stored as such for decades. The badge was simply never used nor cap-attached: as such it can naturally easily be used for attachement onto a cap (as can be seen on the pictures). The trapezoid (that presumably originated from the so-called Dachau clothing-depots) originates from an insignia-lot that was brought to the USA by an US veteran and that remained there for years in a collection. Simply an attractive Waffen-SS 'Panzer'-cap- ie. “pirate-type”-cap-trapezoid that can easily be used to restore a cap or to be stored in any cloth-insignia ie. Waffen-SS collection and that is accordingly priced!
