This is an attractive - albeit most certainly issued- and/or worn! - example of a so-called: 'Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze' (or: bronze-class panzer-assault badge or PAB) being a (typical) later-war-period, non-maker-marked- and/or typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based specimen (of the so-called: 'dish-back'-pattern) as was procuced by a to date still unidentified the maker (ie. 'Hersteller') and that comes in an overall nice- (and I deem clearly used- and/or worn-), condition. The badge on offer here concerns (I deem) a truly later-war-period-, zinc- ie. 'Feinzink'-based specimen that shows a fully preserved (bronze) toned finish and that is just tarnished over the years: nevertheless, does it still have an attractive appearance, still showing pronounced detail as to be expected by a badge by this particular maker. The badge - which has a typical, somewhat 'blackened' zinc-type age-patina - has, however, I deem never been cleaned nor polished (and is still a tiny bit dirty ie. stained- ie. tarnished as mentioned above). As stated above, is the piece a typical non-maker-marked example that shows the various characteristics - such as for example the typical pin-set-up, silver-coloured- and thin-shaped pin and/or dish-back - as only seen on PABs as produced by this maker: it deals with a so-called: 'Unknown maker IV - so-called: dish-back-pattern' (as is uniquely numbered with the reference-number: '5.12.1.' according to the excellent reference-work entitled: 'The Panzer-Assault badge of WWII' by my Belgian friend Philippe de Bock). This piece naturally shows all the details as to be expected for a badge by this particular maker. The award was recently found as such at a German private-household and was never before part of a collection. Still an attractive and honest bronze-class 'dish-back'-pattern PAB that is with certainty accordingly priced!
