The attractive piece - which was surely issued but that was I deem never worn nor even mounted! - came together with its pre-folded and/or never confectioned (and approx. 29 cms. long-sized-) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt'). The cross - which shows a clear makers'-designation: '25' stamped into its ring (as can be seen on the pictures) - was with certainty never cleaned and has a very nice and/or truly attractive age-patina: it has, however, lost its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and does show some darkened tarnish: the cross is simply nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'matted'-) core (that does show some minimal paint-loss). The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an evident specimen that was produced by the maker: 'Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Graveur-, Gold- und Silberschmiede-Innungen' as based in the town of Hanau am Main (ie. 'Hersteller 25'): it has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker. The IC was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply a great, maker-marked 'EK II. Klasse' that will be very hard to be upgraded!
