This is a very attractive - and I deem hardly worn- nor never used - example of an: 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (or: Iron Cross first class) being a very attractive and/or clearly marker- (ie. 'L/11'-) marked example as was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Wilhelm Deumer' as based in the town of Lüdenscheid and that came stored in its original, simulated leather-based- (and fairly luxuriously styled) 'generic-styled'-type etui as issued and/or recently found and that comes in an overall very nice- (surely issued albeit hardly used- nor worn-), condition. The magnetic cross - that shows the makers'-designation 'L/11' stamped onto its back - has a nice (and bright!) age-patina and retains truly great detail: the black-coloured core shows no rust nor real damage whatsoever: the satin-like, black-coloured painted core is truly almost fully preserved (something that is not always the case). The cross also retains a fair bit of its 'off-factory applied' polished sides (ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten'). The cross is just a tiny bit stained (but was never cleaned nor polished). The black-toned 'LDO'-type etui comes also in a very fine and fully complete condition: it comes in a very nice and fully undamaged condition whereas the black-coloured- and/or velvet-like interior is also present and in place (and does show hardly any age nor staining as can be seen on the pictures). The etui is void of an (ink-stamped) makers'-designation (as more often) but does show the imprint of the cross its once held. Simply a very attractive IC1-set as was produced by the 'Wilhelm Deumer'-company and that was never before part of a collection: I deem that I have priced this attractive and untouched example accordingly!
