Attractive - and fully matching! - pair of 'high-ranked', WH (Heeres) officers'-pattern shoulderstraps as was intended for usage by an: 'Oberst eines Gebirgsjäger-Regiments'

The attractive - and actually scarcely found! - 'high-ranked' shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres'-type shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks': they were with certainty issued and/or worn as such and do show some moderate age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' linnen as can be noticed on the pictures). The boards never had any tongues and were clearly intended as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 9,8 cms. in length each and show two matching sets of (neatly golden-toned, smaller-sized- and/or 'Buntmetall'-based) pips period-attached denoting the (high) officers'-rank of: 'Oberst' (ie. full colonel). All four devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (albeit minimally darkened) age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-used'-tunic. It should also be mentioned that these officers'-pattern, 'Gebirgsjäger'- (ie. army mountain-troops-) related shoulderboards are actually quite difficult to come by and can easily be graded 'scarce'. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged an: 'Oberst eines Gebirgsjäger-Regiments'!
