The attractive war-badge (which has - I deem - only been moderately used- ie. worn-) comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin and/or original (ie. fully unaltered- and/or typical 'WH'-type-) catch (set-up). This particular example shows very nice and/or pronounced detail overall and was clearly worn as such. The badge shows a nice age-patina and retains most (ie. all!) of its original, typical, somewhat 'bluish-like'- (albeit silverish-grey-coloured) finish: it was, moreover, never cleaned- nor polished and retains most of its period (glossy) finish (especially on its back as can be seen on the pictures). As stated above, is the badge a clearly maker- (ie. 'WH'-) marked example that can with certainty be attributed to the desirable Austrian maker: 'Wilhelm Hobacher' as was based in the town of Vienna (ie. Wien). The piece originates from a private-household in Germany and was never before part of a collection. I deem that this attractive and still very detailed example is accordingly priced!
