The attractive - and typical early- (ie. mid-) war-period - piece is executed in (bright)silver-coloured metal (ie. 'Buntmetall') and comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately worn- ie. most certainly used- and/or worn-), condition. The naturally non-magnetic - and non-vaulted - cross shows some blackened- (ie. minimally tarnished) age-patina but was never cleaned nor polished: it retains, however, most (ie. all) of its typical silverish-coloured finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross comes naturally mounted onto its functional (flute-shaped- and also non-magnetic) pin- and/or: period catch (ie. catch-set-up) which are both present and unaltered (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece - which is totally void of a makers'-designation as more often - comes as found and stored for decades and was truly never cleaned and is still a bit stained ie. dirty (as can be seen on the pictures). I personally deem that the KvK 1st class award is a bit underestimated by the collectors' community: they can almost be graded equally as the IC 1st class. Simply an attractive - and just moderately used and/or worn! - 'Buntmetall'-based example that is in my opinion most certainly accordingly priced!
