Attractive - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' officers'-type shoulderboards (having the neat and seldomly seen so-called: 'Auf der Steg'-mounting!) as was intended for a: 'Major des des Gebirgsjäger-Regiments 100'
The attractive - and neatly 'cyphered'! - shoulderboard-pair is piped in the neat green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour and was specifically intended for usage by a: 'Major des des Gebirgsjäger-Regiments 100' (or: major who served within within the army mountain-troops regiment, numbered: '100') and that comes in an overall nice- (I deem surely issued- and/or moderately worn-), condition. The attractive shoulderboards are 'text-book'-examples of the 'Heeres'-type-, 'Gebirgsjäger'-related shoulderboards and have the (somewhat shiny) silver-coloured (ie. non-sub-dued-) 'upperdecks' (making this a pair that was - I deem - specifically intended for usage on a white-coloured summer-tunic). The boards show the desirable green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues (and have the unusual 'Auf der Steg'-mounting). As such, they were clearly intended to be used as a pair that was intended for usage on a summer-type tunic (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 9,7 cms. in length each and show two (fully matching) sets of golden-toned, smaller-sized and/or (I deem) 'Buntmetall'-based: '1'- and/or double '0'-numerals ie. cyphers (or: 'Ziffern') denoting the officers'-rank of: 'Major' (ie. major). All six devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (albeit minimally darkened) age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair shows some regular age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair originates from an older 'Gebirgjäger'-related shoulderstrap ie. board-collection that I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply an attractive, neatly 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair with a so-called: 'Auf der Steg'-mounting that belonged to a: 'Major des des Gebirgsjäger-Regiments 100'!
