This is an attractive - matching and actually scarcely found! - pair of WH (Heeres) early-war-period, so-called: 'M36-/M40'-pattern- (rounded-styled) 'cyphered', NCO-type shoulderstraps as piped in the darker-green (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for - and clearly worn by! - a: 'Feldwebel des Gebirgsjäger-Regiments 99' (or: sergeant who served within the army mountain-troops regiment, numbered: '99') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn- ie. carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The shoulderstraps - which are approximately 10,8 cms. sized in length - have the 'standard-type'- and/or darker-green-coloured, smooth-woolen-based 'upperdecks'. The straps - which have the darker-green (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured- and/or 'rayon'-type piping attached - shows the (silverish-coloured) NCO-braid attached and do show two (matching) pairs of so-called: '9'-cyphers ie. numerals (or: 'Ziffern') and single pip period-attached: all six devices are executed in (somewhat shiny) 'Buntmetall'-based metal (as can be seen on the pictures). I deem that this is a typical pair that originated from a private tailor-shop. The neat straps - which came without tongue and that were clearly intended for usage as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern - show as stated above some moderate usage and/or wear (some minor staining and/or dust is visible and/or present). It should be noted that all 'cyphered'-pattern, WH (Heeres) shoulderstraps can easily be regarded 'fairly scarce'. This shoulderstrap-pair originated from an older 'Gebirgjäger'-related shoulderstrap ie. board-collection that I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply an attractive and/or: early-war-period, neatly 'cyphered' and/or 'Heeres'-related NCO-type shoulderstrap-pair that was intended for usage by a: 'Feldwebel des Gebirgsjäger-Regiments 99'!
