Attractive - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' officers'-type shoulderboards (having the neat and seldomly seen so-called: 'Auf der Steg'-mounting!) as was intended for an: 'Oberleutnant des Infanterie-Division 72'

The attractive - and neatly 'cyphered'! - shoulderboard-pair is piped in the neat white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for usage by an: 'Oberleutnant des Infanterie-Division 72' (or: lieutnant first-class who served within the army, infantry-regiment numbered: '72') and that comes in an overall nice- (I deem surely issued- and/or moderately worn-), condition. The attractive shoulderboards are 'text-book'-examples of the 'Heeres'-type, 'Infanterie'-related shoulderboards and have the (somewhat tarnished) silver-coloured (ie. non-sub-dued-) 'upperdecks' (making this a pair that was - I deem - specifically intended for usage on a white-coloured summer-tunic). The boards show the desirable white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues (and have the unusual 'Auf der Steg'-mounting). As such, they were clearly intended to be used as a pair that was intended for usage on a summer-type tunic (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 11 cms. in length each and show a (fully matching) pair of golden-toned, smaller-sized and/or 'Buntmetall'-based: '7'- and/or: '2'-numerals ie. cyphers (or: 'Ziffern') and a matching set of (equally golden-toned, larger-sized- and/or also 'Buntmetall'-based) pips period-attached denoting the officers'-rank of: 'Oberleutnant' (ie. lieutnant first-class). All six devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (albeit minimally darkened) age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair shomws some regular age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply an attractive, neatly 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair with a so-called: 'Auf der Steg'-mounting that belonged to an: 'Oberleutnant des Infanterie-Division 72'!
