This is an attractive - and actually not that easily found! - WH (Heeres o. Luftwaffe): 'DAK' (ie. 'Deutsches Afrikakorps') typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based, so-called: 'pith-helmet'-shield being a neatly maker- (ie. 'M.F.P.'-) marked example that comes in a 'virtually mint- ie. unissued'- and/or never helmet-attached-, condition. The very detailed and/or pronounced! - piece retains all its three (original and also zinc-based and/or fragile) pins which are coming in a 'mint- ie. unissued'- and/or never bent condition (as can be seen on the pictures). The painted areas of the shield do retain almost all of their original colour (as can be seen on the pictures). Actually, are these genuine pith-helmet shields - having all their original and/or undamaged prongs in place - not that easily encountered: even more so when they are executed in detailed zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based metal. Simply a nice opportunity to acquire an original 'DAK' (ie. 'Afrikakorps') so-called 'pith-helmet'-shield for a competitive price!
